Why a Printing Error is a Causing Anxiety

April 12, 2017

Even as the limit for the year’s ratio of H-1B permits (around 65,000) was exceeded in a matter of days following the opening of the application window, errors encountered during the printing of new or renewed permits is becoming a source of worry for most information technology experts coming out of India.

A printing firm contracted to print the permits in the country is erroneously printing out ?1B1? Rather than the statutory H1B on the accepted applications of a lot of permit holders, putting all of their travel plans under serious risks.

The mistake is also making the job of leaving the country under emergency situations very difficult for a lot of permit holders. The holders are scared that upon arrival from their home nation, they might be denied entry back into the United States. The mistake has been pointed out by owners of the country’s passports who just submitted applications for the premium processing scheme of permits which has been put on an indefinite hold.

Applicants seem to be having troubles as the agency in charge of permit issuance does not receive complaints.

“I desperately tried to contact the agency, but they refused my requests since I am not an attorney nor am I an employer,” a victim of the error told reporters. An error such as this would not be overlooked when an applicant goes for screening outside the United States of America. “Nothing can occur expressly, and a hiring company or an attorney would have to contact them directly. It is dangerous trying to travel outside of the United States where it is necessary for your permit to be stamped on entry,” another permit holder nervously told reporters.

The United States had a fee of $1,225 as the charge for a premium processed permit under the H-1B permit scheme.

The premium prepared plan reduced the waiting time from half a year to just 15 days. The present government of the United States put on hold the premium processing scheme as from the 3rd of April.

A whopping 60% of hiring companies used to make use of the H-1B permit system as it was a certain way of getting premium talent for its IT departments.

The temporary termination also entails that the situation with the holders of the H-1B is entirely uncertain for the next half a year, which the duration is taken for a typical application to receive approval.
