He said, “the atmosphere in the United States is that of security.” He, however, admitted that he does not see quick laws being put in place to tackle this. “the atmosphere is definitely on of security. We can all see that. We just need to see out how it plays out as far as policy implementation is concerned,” he said.

He also added that the information technology industry in India needs to be ready for the coming changes and he stated how preparation in the sector could be fostered.

Companies in the country are rapidly making purchases of businesses in the United States in their bid to overcome difficulties presented by the impending restriction of visa laws in one of their largest outsourcing markets.

The purchase provides companies in India “greater combination of foreign employees and indigenous employees because a lot of the purchased firms will possess a vast array of American citizens as their staff,” the president of Nasscom said.

A lot of laws have been put forward in the United States House of Reps this year in the bid to further solidify the visa restriction campaign. One of such laws advises the government to forbid firms from recruiting workers on non-migrant visas if they currently have more than fifty personnel and larger than 50% of their staff are non-migrant visa holders.

The president of Nasscom also said one other way to be ready for the last restriction of the permit scheme is by “striving to employ and recruit more suitable employees of American descent even though there currently exist lots of difficulties to achieving that due to a shortage of appropriate personnel.

Even in United States colleges, a whopping 75% of admissions in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) program are foreign nationals, and to employ them they require a visa.”

He also said stricter enforcement of visa rules could also be an option. “there are no problems on our side due to all the significant firms complying with the laid down rules and regulations set aside for them to follow. We hope they abide by them.”
