Tibet is a country high in the Himalayas that is now part of China, and Indians travelling to Tibet need a 30-day tourist visa, a valid passport, a return flight, hotel booking for the duration of the holiday in Tibet and proof of finances such as a bank statement. As well as having to book your holiday in Tibet with a recognised tour company. Tibet has been part of China since 1950 when the Tibetan army was defeated in a battle near Chamdo, in 1959 the Dalai Lama; the Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader left the country for India and since then travellers have to go with an official tour company.

Tibet is situated on the Tibetan Plateau, which is the highest region on the planet and is home to Mount Everest on the border with Nepal.  The Tibetan people are known to be amongst some of the friendliest people on Earth, and the cost of living is very cheap there if you are going as a tourist. Most travellers go to Tibet to go to the Everest base camp or even try and climb the mighty mountain. The capital city is Lhasa and the languages spoken are Tibetan and Mandarin Chinese, with the currency being the Renmimbi.
