Holidaying in Israel on Your Agenda?

Israel is a very westernised country in the Middle East that is home to some astounding historical and archaeological remains and enjoys a temperate climate for most of the year. If you are an Indian citizen and want to apply for a visa then you must visit the Israeli embassy, which has offices in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore and applicants can apply for a visa at their nearest embassy. There are different categories for visa applications such as for a student, business traveller or for a tourist and every traveller to Israel needs valid health insurance that covers them for $40,000 US dollars in case of medical emergencies or expatriation plus of course you need a valid passport. Once you have your visa and return ticket sorted then now is the time to plan your itinerary for this country that is a mix of modern and ancient cultures. Israel is home to the native Palestinians and Jewish inhabitants and hosts modern cities such as Tel Aviv, which has a wide range of hip cafes, clubs and music venues with all the latest DJ’s as well as some fantastic beaches.

Visit Jerusalem
Jerusalem is also a must see, as it is the spiritual home for Judaism, Christianity and Islam with some truly beautiful ancient buildings such as the Wailing Wall or the Dome of the Rock as well as bustling street markets and plentiful food shops, if visiting Israel you must try falafel in pitta bread with hummus, it is the Middle Eastern equivalent of a McDonalds, fast food if you are on the go. The country also has mountains, desert and fertile olive groves and there are many tours that can be booked to see more of the country. If you want to combine a beach trip with a visit to Egypt then a trip to Eilat in the south is essential for its freewheeling atmosphere and proximity to the border with Egypt. There is always something interesting to see in Israel, just be warned that you should ask that your passport not be stamped with an Israeli stamp if you plan to travel to any Arab countries apart from Jordan and Israel.
