Bali is an island that is part of Indonesia, and tourists travelling to Bali from India just need a passport, 30-day tourist visa, which you can apply for in your home country. They speak Balinese, Indonesian and English on the island and the capital city is Denpasar in the south of the island. Most of Indonesia’s Hindu population live in Bali, which is a mesmerising mix of vibrant green rice fields, busy cities, ancient temples and picture perfect beaches, and the weather is very warm.

Or if you seek something more spiritual there are many religious processions and ceremonies, enlivened by local dance and music. If you like shopping then the Balinese crafts are superb with carved wood, sculpture, metalwork and art being extremely well made and beautiful. And if you enjoy cinema then there is a yearly Indonesian International Film Festival as well as the globally renowned delicate Balinese dancers. For divers, Bali is a paradise as it is in an area called the Coral Triangle, which has the greatest concentration of different marine species.

If you want a cheap and cheerful holiday then Legian and Kuta are packed with busy bars, surf shops, hippy clothes shops and an awful lot of motorbikes, and t-shirt sellers, offering a more frenetic variety of beach life, they also have cheaper accommodation and can be filled with holidaymakers on package tours, which always leads to a lively night as not everyone goes on holiday for peace and quiet.

Either way, a holiday in Bali from India offer something to suit every traveller.
