Bahrain revealed that for citizens of 114 countries, including the GCC region, a single entry visa and a one-year multiple re-entry e-visa have been launched under the fourth phase of its new visa policy.

Visitors holding a single entry visa are allowed to stay in the nation  for two weeks and one-year multiple re-entry visa holders are allowed to stay in the country for 90 days.

Bahrain launched two new visas and revealed changes on visit visas

The three-month multiple re-entry visa holders are allowed to stay in the country for a month, instead of two weeks as per changes announced by Bahrain for existing visitor visas.

These changes to existing visitor visas allow the citizens of Canada, Ireland, UK and the United States with five-year multiple re-entry visas to stay in Bahrain for a longer period of 90 days compared to 30 days with the old visa policy, which also attracts more visitors from the four nations.

Last year, a huge number of 315,943 citizens of the UK & Ireland, 256,439 citizens of the US and 79,127 citizens of Canada had visited Bahrain.

Bahrain Interior Ministry’s undersecretary of Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs, Shaik Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, says that the new visas and changes to existing visitor visas represent the Country’s commitment to openness. In addition, he said that to make the country more accessible, to make it as a regional hub and to help leisure & business tourists, great strides were taken in recent years.

Bahrain extended the list of nationalities eligible to apply for e-visa from 38 to 114, which facilitates citizens of several African countries to apply for visas online at http://www.evisa.gov.bh.

The list of citizens of the countries eligible for visa on arrival has also increased to 67 countries that include a few in Europe, Central and South America along with citizens and residents of GCC countries.

More than 10 million tourists have visited the Kingdom in 2015 and the country is expecting around 8% growth this year. In early January 2016, GCC tourism ministers formally named the “Manama” as the “Capital of Gulf Tourism 2016”.
