July 04, 2016

People from India who want to visit South Africa are in a lucky group of countries that do not have to pay any fees for a visa, which can be applied for at either the South African Embassies in New Delhi and Mumbai, and have a valid passport and enough funds to cover the trip. The Capital city is Pretoria, with Bloemfontein being the judicial capital and Cape Town the legislative capital, with the largest city being Johannesburg. South Africa has 11 official languages including English, Afrikaans, Southern and Northern Sotho, Southern Ndebele, Swazi, Tswana, Tsonga, Xhosa, Zulu and Venda. It has a population of 51,770,560 and the currency is the South African Rand. They also drive on the left hand side of the road.

African Adventures in South Africa

This country is situated in the south of the African continent and has some of the rarest wildlife in the world, and some of the most dangerous such as the hippo, lion and crocodile, but it also has penguins on the Cape making it very diverse indeed. And the landscape features vast rivers, deserts such as the Kalahari, Table Mountain, Namakwa’s array of wildflowers and many Nature Parks such as the Kruger National Park and KwaZulu-Natal’s iSimangaliso Wetland Park which has dolphins and zebras as residents. So you can book a safari, and have your own experience of living amongst the rare wild creatures of South Africa.

Visit South Africa

If you fly into Johannesburg, and rent a car, you can explore this country yourself by first of all visiting the Cradle of Humankind, where there are some hominid fossils and visit the Maropeng museum or the huge cave at Sterkfontein. Or if you want a different type of nightlife then visit Cape Town for its buzzing nightclubs on Long Street, or have a curry in Durban’s Indian Area, and remember that the wine industry in South Africa is second oldest after Europe. South Africa is a fantastic place to visit from India to see diverse wildlife and nature but also to just soak in the atmosphere in a city café.
