No Visa Fee Hike for Malaysians Visiting India

The prime minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, disclosed that there had been no increase in the fee payable by Malaysian citizens to visit the country of India.

 

“What the country of India has done is to make available a new scheme of permits which will be legally valid for a year.

 

The present 6-months permit fee for Malaysian citizens is still holding. There is no fact that the permit fee has gone higher,” he disclosed at a meeting for both Malaysian and Indian traders on Monday night.

 

Tourists from the country of India also get a permit free arrival if they intend on staying in the country for 15 days. It was said in the news that the fee payable for Malaysian citizens would rise from RM180 to around RM456.

 

Initially, the Indian ambassador to Malaysia, T.S Tirumurti, affirmed that the current permit fee for half a year would still be enforced.
