UK inbound requests less expensive visas for Indian travelers

UK inbound is necessitating the introduction of a 2-year multi-entry visa just for £87, for Indian travelers to UK.

The request came when it appeared that India will be the foremost country to be provided with the registered traveler (visa) scheme, which offers frequent business travelers faster clearance at the UK border and no necessity of filling in  a landing card.

UK inbound requests less expensive visas for Indian travelers

This was declared as Prime Minister Theresa May piloted a UK appointment to Delhi, on her first international trade trip.

A year ago, 400,000 Indian travelers visited UK, and spent almost double the amount than an average visitor spends.

In any case, ‘UK inbound’ states that this is a price sensitive market and there are worries that Britain is losing its edge on competition compared to other countries.

A Chinese visa pilot scheme declared a year ago has indicated that tourist numbers can increase without having to compromise on national security concerns and the association trusts this is an "excellent model" to develop future business.

UK inbound Chief Executive, Deirdre Wells, said that “We therefore strongly urge the prime minister to announce a similar scheme for India -  the most important of the BRIC economies for tourism.”

“Almost a year ago, the former prime minister introduced a similar concession for the important Chinese market and almost overnight our members saw a significant increase in the number of enquiries from this all important market,” she added.

"In a post-Brexit world where new trade links with countries outside the EU are more important than ever, it is critical that we seize the opportunity to develop new business with growing markets such as India.”
