Take a Trip to Germany: The Powerhouse of Europe

Germany is the largest country in Centre Europe, and is bordered by Poland, the Czech Republic Denmark, Austria, Switzerland and France, Belgium and The Nederlands, yes it really is that big. For people holidaying in Germany from India, all you need is a valid passport, a return flight, and a Schengen visa which will let you travel around one or all of the European countries that have signed up to the Schengen Area for three months. The language spoken is German and the currency is the Euro with the capital city being Berlin, which was once split in two after WW2.  Germany is culturally extremely influential in Europe and is a major economic power globally, and is famous for both its engineering prowess, especially with cars such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche amongst others. But as well as its ultra modern approach to business and technology, the country itself is a land of contrast with towering remote castles perched on rocky outcrops, vast forests and chocolate box pretty wooden houses as well as exciting, cutting-edge cities such as Berlin and Munich that blend old architecture with sleek modern design and in the case of Berlin a certain anarchic freedom.

The great cities, Hamburg, Berlin and Munich embrace every type of culture from opera to underground techno clubs and art museums and some amazing architecture. But the country also holds Alpine peaks, winding rivers, great craft beers, ancient villages with half-timbered cottages, beaches, vineyards as well as a history that encompasses Einstein, Marx, Beethoven, the Grimm Brothers, the Hanseatic League, the development of the printing press and MP3 technology as well as darker side as represented by Hitler and the Nazis. This huge land has Roman remains, fairy tale castles from the Middle Ages and the remains of the once imposing Berlin Wall.
