Russia proposes visa-free travel for India, Iran and Vietnam

Russia’s Federal Tourism Agency (FTA) has proposed to have a mutual visa-free travel arrangement with India, Vietnam, and Iran. The facility will be available only for the tourist groups.

In an interview, Oleg Safonov, head of FTA (Federal Tourism Agency) said, “Currently, there are visa-free group tours between Russia and China. We offer using the same mechanism (as with China) in our cooperation with India and Iran." He further said, “this is a really good mechanism, that has proved its effectiveness.”

Safonov praised the benefits of the exchange program with China. Russia and China have signed an agreement in the year 2000, for a visa-free exchange for group tourists.
