Mexico - Land of Ancient Wonder
Indians travelling to Mexico on holiday need to apply for a 30 day tourist visa from the Mexican Embassy in New Delhi, and must have a passport that has a minimum of six months left on it, a passport sized photograph, return ticket and enough funds, US$50 per day to cover the vacation in Mexico.
With deserts dotted with cactus, volcanoes that issue plumes of smoke even though they are covered in snow and some stunning beaches, this is a country that has to be explored. The Mexican people are known to be polite and charming, whether they are indigenous villagers or big city hipsters and have tight family networks.
Before Spain conquered Mexico it was already home to some of the globes greatest monuments, including the Maya temples at Palenque and Teotihuacán’s impressive pyramids while the colonial era left behind gorgeous towns with tree-filled squares, impressively sculpted churches and some seriously impressive mansions. And artistically Mexico has produced Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera as well as many modern filmmakers and fantastic art galleries and museums. Anyone interested in the culture of Mexico should holiday there from India, you will be amazed at what you find.
