Indians to get visa-free travel to Philippines

It’s a known fact that, Indian travelers are keen to travel various nations to explore diverse lifestyles, cultures and to experience history in various parts of the globe. From immense nature attractions to picturesque beauties Indians want to experience all the wonders that the world offers.


Citing Indians eagerness in visiting foreign nations, many overseas nations has streamlined visa process for Indians, while some has waived visa requirement for the Indians. Now the Philippines, is planning to do the same, but on a trial basis for one year.


According to the new proposal, Indians holding AJACSSUK (Australia, Japan, Canada, Singapore, the US and UK visa) visa can now travel to Philippines from any entry port subsuming major international airport as well as secondary international hubs and sea ports without a visa for a period up to 14 days. Formerly, this rule was only applicable to Indian citizens’ entering at the Clark International Airport or Ninoy Aquino International Airport.


India is the 13th largest major source of overseas travelers to the Philippines and their arrival is increasing tremendously. By 2016, India is likely to become one amongst the top 10 sources targeting 100,000 arrivals with streamlined visa rules as well as new tourism promotion actions.


Philippines department has recorded a rise of 17.14% travelers in previous year, especially from Indian over 2013. More than 61,000 Indians arrived in the Philippines in the previous year and the number is likely to increase nearly 75,000 by the end of 2015.
