Classic Cuba- and all you need is a Tourist Card

The island of Cuba in the Caribbean Sea is the largest island in the Caribbean, and the language spoken is Spanish with the currency being the Cuban Convertible Peso, and travellers from India can get into Cuba with a valid passport and a Tourist Card, which is valid for 30 days with a further 30-day extension if necessary. If you book your trip through a travel agency or airline then you will most likely receive your Tourist Card on the plane or you can collect one at the José Martí International Airport in Havana, which is the capital city. The citizens are a mix of native Taino people, Spanish, Africans and Caribbean people. Cuba also holds the distinction of being one of the world’s last remaining socialist countries and is ruled by the Communist Party of Cuba, and as a result has a free healthcare system for all of its inhabitants, and a society where people have a heightened sense of community. Culture wise Cuba is more akin to Latin America and its economy is boosted by exports of coffee, sugar and tobacco, in particular, its world-renowned cigars. Many of the cities in Cuba have remained relatively untouched for decades so have been designated as Unesco-listed cities, and combine brightly coloured buildings, imposing architecture and cobbled streets with a vibrant street life, classic 1950’s cars and this is twinned with some truly stunning beaches, imposing mountains and swamps that are home to crocodiles.
